John,
Wondering if we can explore this a bit further. I won't disagree with the point that the xfers don't help. The question is how do they overcome it?
Couldn't they simply make the case that:
1) xfers happen all the time (Carlisle and Prestwood xferred here), so its a matter of fit
2) if you look at these cases, individually. couldn't the coaches argue that shepard, greenberry and lynch were beyond their control? Greenberry admitted he wasn't coming to ND for ND; Darby perhaps makes the case that FSU was more desirable, but track also factored into that.
or do you see it as something more endemic to the program? Something beyond a perception?
