  • I'VE posted before and I'll say it again: This is a quality ND team and there are no excuses for a sub par year. We have all the motivation (and talent) to not only have a solid winning season but also spring an upset or two along the way. We simply need to reinstill the swagger that was ND: strong, determined, well coached and always up to the fight. The players shouldn't be hoping they get a break or two or play a good game, they should be expecting to win, especially at home. We have a solid D and the nucleus for an outstanding offense. Now let's just go out and play the damn game.

    I believe in the coaches and the players and I expect a great season. Go Irish!

  • That 1999 defense shouldn't have been as bad on paper as it was, it had talent, albeit young talent. Bob Davie knew how to win in ND Stadium going 25-7 in his 5 seasons. We haven't had a coach who's teams played that well at home since.
