It never ceases to amaze me how espn perennially rates ND commits lower than any other site. Exhibit A: Gunner Kiel. On every other Collegiate Athlete rating site he is 5 star. ND signed him, ergo Espn rates him 4 star. Arik Armstead , he is considering ND, therefore, he is 4 star. Everyone Else's charts hes a 5 star. Im seeing a pattern......... Tee Shepperd 4 star everywhere else.....Espn will most assured drop him to 3 star. For ever espn has pushed their dislike of all things ND to the masses. They are often heard to wax poetic on their thoughts that ND is a school of self important egos. Yet how do the refer to OSU? "The ohio state university" its one thing that OSU calls themselves that , but espn? sigh
One time POTW winner.

Did you watch the piece on ESPN yesterday about Kiel flipping to Irish. At the end of the piece the sports caster turned to Hannah Storm and said you have been singing their fight song for over an hour now can you stop it. (Paraphrasing as I don't remember the exact phrase) So not everyone there hates us.

Also worth pointing out that ESPN is the only site who has Ferguson rated higher than 3 stars.... in fact, they have him as our 2nd best recruit and top 75 overall I believe. Does that mean they know something we don't know and Ferguson is planning on signing somewhere else? The team rankings between 5 and 15 or so are so fluid that there isn't much of a difference between those classes, typically 1 player or so. We jumped an average of like 7 or 8 spots with Kiel committing.

Look, I don't care for ESPN very much, but your post is ridiculous and devoid of facts.
The REASON Gunner is not a 5 star is that ESPN has only given 9 players five stars as of now. ESPN consistently gives fewer 5 star ratings than the other services. If you look at the numerical ranking given to Gunner, they rate him the 20th best player in the country, which is HIGHER than the ranking 247 gives him (247 says 24th best player) and the same as rivals.
Similar situation with Arik Armstead, who they rank as 15th best in the country.
I am happy to hate on ESPN, but for goodness sake, try connecting your complaints to actual facts.

Ace, I almost never watch ESPN except for an actual game, but I will check their website occasionally, and what amuses me is the positioning of stories. I'm certainly not objective about this, but it does seem that other schools seem to get top billing for their good news, though the Kiel story was an exception.

The biggest reason Armstead has dropped is that he is adamant about playing defense. If he would be open to playing OT, he would probably be one of the two or three highest OTs in the country, if not the highest ranked one. All the sites rave about his potential, but it seems to me that they all believe he is better suited to OT than DE.
There is no ND bias there. It's just about that issue.
