ND went 12-0 during the regular season to a incredible #1 ranking,
--- and apparently the NFL thought enough of that performance to invite eight to the NFL combine...the very best for ND in recent years.
The NFL really like ND along with the following teams -- Bama had 12, Florida had 9, FSU 13, Georgia 10, LSU 13 (mostly underclassmen)
From my perspective, Eiffert, Cave, Slaughter and Motta will be helped most by previous ND grads who have succeeded at their positions...
--- Riddick and Wood will have trouble given previous ND players who haven't really succeeded at their position, like Walker and Allen
--- KLM's future will hinge on his rehab, and his position is very deep in this draft so it doesn't look good.
Overall, I see Teo in the 1st round, Eiffert in the 2nd round, Cave and Motta very late in the 6th or 7th rounds.
Braxton Cave at center
Tyler Eiffert at tight end
Kapron Lewis-Moore at DL
Zeke Motta at DB
Theo Riddick at RB
Jamoris Slaughter at DB (surprised me)
Monti Teo at LB
Cierre Wood at RB (somewhat of a surprise given his doghouse year, but he had a very good year before this year)
Do you think Golic Jr has a shot as a free agent signee? We all wish Jamoris the best but I would have loved to see him wearing blue & gold for one more year. Didn't Cierre have the two longest runs from scrimmage this past season or am I wrong on that? I was really looking and unfairly hoping that Cierre would have become another Jonas Gray.
I agree about Wood. Disappointed.I really don't understand his decision from a football perspective.
From a personal perspective, he has some other issues on his plate which probably made this decision for him.
