While Swarbrick was taking bows for "uniting" the Commisars of collegaite football,
--- one wonders where Notre Dame will land.
I'm not overly optimistic we will land anywhere but behind the garage at this point because it seems very unlikely we will feild a team...
--- that wil come close to ranking in the Top 4 nationally.
An 8 win team just isn't going to get it done...
--- let alone one who has trouble gaining anyone's respect.
Here is hoping we even get a bowl bid next year.
The Model they are looking at seems pretty cut and dry....finish in the top 4 in BCS rankings, you're in the playoffs....same as for everybody.... If there is any problems ahead with that model is that I envision 2 SEC teams in the final 4 probably 50% of the time which isn't really a playoff...If they can't win their conference championship, I don't think they should get in the playoffs...that goes for any conference...JMO but to me, if you didn't win your conference championship, how could you fairly be placed in front of a 11-1 team whether it be Notre Dame, PAC 12, Big 12, or Big Ten conference champ...there were a few teams that would have put up a better or at least just as good fight as LSU did against Bama this past year...
This all seems fine for Notre Dame. If we have a team like the ones Ara and Lou coached, we'll be in the NC "playoff." The bigger issue at the moment is why we don't have a team challenging at that level.
