Nothing will become of it unless the deer start talking. Let's see now. Do we want to bury Manti or discuss Alabama? Do we want to discuss Ray Lewis, his missing white suit, his out of court settlement, his connection with the deer antler spray or continue with this obssessive focus on Manti? The media will determine who the bad guys are and Alabama will never be one of the bad guys. Don't expect the NCAA to do too much snooping. They are slower than a turtle race in mud.
The NCAA could not do anything if they wanted to...
Alabama Crimson Tide Football, Basketball, Baseball and Recruiting indepth news coverage, stats, schedules, depth charts and merchandise.
Isn't this guy claiming it won't show up on a drug test?
Ross and Keys claim so much,,, who knows? The way I understand it,,, it is the IGF-1 chemical or natural substance that is banned. I guess you have to use the spray for a long time for the IGF-1 to show up in your system,, again who knows? There is probably not enough of that substance in the spray to matter...
The way I heard it on ESPN, the substance will only show up in blood tests and the NFL and NCAA only use urine tests. I also was listening to WLS talk radio Chicago this morning and the principle involved was on the horn with the morning radio hosts. This guy claims that if the right questions would ever be asked, the roof would be blown off this whole story. When pressed for what the right questions would be, he never gave a direct answer. The media are too busy with the 24/7 lovefest of Ray Lewis and the slow and painful demolition of Manti Teo to bother with any real investigative work. This story goes nowhere I'm afraid.
Don't guess anyone has thought of the right questions for 5 years.... You do know at one point the NCAA banned Chocolate Milk! Maybe it is a non-story...
It's a non story because the media has no interest. They make a story or let a potential one die. I would figure these idiots who live off of free buffetts and name drop with no shame would have even a slight interest in deer antler spray. Maybe this is a dead end, maybe not. At least they need to get off their fat butts and go ask some questions. It's easier to watch Dr Phil and get your story. That's exactly what SportsCenter did this evening. I didn't know choc milk was banned and I will bet 99.9% of the sports media didn't know that either. If they would do some investigative work, they actually might learn a thing or two.
In the report posted by the OP,, a scientist says that the spray is not effective when taken by mouth.Does it have to be injected into your blood flow to produce the IGF-1? Maybe they should do some research and get to the bottom of it.. But taking the spray by mouth may be just snake oil. I don't know, never used the stuff.. But,, for 4 or 5 years I have been having problems with my left hip-lowerback, so I may give it a try... See if it will improve my golf game..
Actually, the PED of choice in Bama is Panther Piss. TIFWIW
