It sounds like the Orange bowl is willing to offer ND a deal....
(1) If we can get to 8 wins...during the regular season ( we have had trouble with this number during the regular season)
(2) If we maintain a strength of schedule that suggests we deserve to be there (probably similar to our 2012 schedule or close to it)
So, we need to return to the 2005 and 2006 team performance level...
--- what happens though if we don't?
One blogster wrote that the cutoff for this deal is probably 9-10 wins...in the regular season...
--- get real. Stop living in La-La land.
We aren't ever going (well, maybe once or twice every 10 years) if we need to do that (9-10 wins) unless we really dumb down the schedule dramatically.
We can't do that because we need the TV deal to maintain our independence...
--- and no one but nobody is going to watch us play a bunch of crap teams....like Temple...who we will play down the line.
WE could win 9 to 10 games a season if we got a real coach. Not an overhyped one who can't seem to figure out who is best QB is.
Unfortunately that coach Is at Ohio State.
I certainly hope that our ambitions scale a little higher than winning 9 games a season.
If we can start winning 10, 11, or 12, like other elite teams, I don't really care what bowl we go to.
