I agree. I am one who never ever wants Tommy Turnover to take another meaningful snap at for the Irish. Just watch when he took most every snap and looked like crap against FSU and USC. And can't handle good defenses. I'm done seeing turnovers and zero running ability.
5 tds and 11 turnovers against those defenses. And got worse. Improve, not Tommy. 2summers. 3 spring balls. 2bowl games. 2sets of bowl practices. 1.5 years starting and still folds like a cheap tent against good defenses. Enough is enough.
And could beat those teams with a good line, two all American receivers and two stud running backs. He got flicking worse. I'm done with turnover tommy.
Hope bk can figure this out.
A visual representation of the FSU game.
that is flipping awesome. And 100% correct! Gotta love a QB that throws 2 pics in the Endzone in the biggest game of the year. That is following up stellar performances USC, BC, MSU, and Stanford.
Gotta love that 5 TD's and 11 Turnovers against those good teams! That Tent is a perfect picture!
I don't know WAVE--i don't think we have to be defensive about Golsons turnovers. He hasn't shown me turnovers yet, and i'm not willing to concede we will see alot of turnovers from him.
If he does, then your point about weighing the turnovers against what he is doing with the offense and measuring that as compared to tommy's turnovers is applicable---but at this point Golson doesnt seem to float passes or force passes, he has no real history of throwing picks---all we know is he put some snaps on the ground this spring,-- thats not enough for me.
As of now Golson's turnovers are ZERO--!
Given the state of the program that Charlie Weis left..................CBK has not done too bad.
It’s still hard to believe that this team did not win 10 games last year but that’s on Kelly for sticking with Rees………….I still wonder from time to time what would the record of our Irish been if he would have just stuck with Dayne Christ after the South Fla game. Regardless Kelly has 2 years at a minimum and 3 years tops to turn this program into a BCS machine even though it’s looking like the BCS might be going bye bye.
I think Kelly will turn this program around…………….he is slowly getting his kind of players in and I hate the “RKG” word but I believe and trust in Brian Kelly!
ND opponents in the ACC hypothetically & historically speaking Reply
If ND joined the ACC how would the competition stack up?
ACC teams that would be the easiest wins:
ACC middle of the road teams......a toss up in terms of wins:
ACC's toughest teams to beat:
North Carolina State
Starting in 2008 to the present ND has played ACC teams (including Pitt and Syracuse) 14 times. ND has won 8 games and lost 6 games.
In 2012 ND will play Miami, Pittsburgh, Boston College and Wake Forest (one tough game, two easy games and one toss up).
Thoughts and predictions?
I predict ND wins all four of those games.
Fwiw, I have my season prediction at 8-4, so its not like I'm expecting ND to go on a bcs type run.
Is there some reason why you enjoy haunting this board with your subtle ND-bashing? What's your problem?
Notre Dame will win at least 9 games in 2012.
Don't be offended if most everyone takes your prediction with a grain of salt. You have predicted a 10+ win season five years in a row. Last year you actually predicted 12-0 /11-1 and in the MNC against Bama with Crist in New York for the Heisman ceremony. So when it comes to predictions your track record is pretty dismal.
If preseason rankings are any indication then an 8-4 season shouldn't be a surprise. However, I would agree a 9 win season is possible. So is a 7-5 season if the Irish luck strays or injuries take its toll.
ND should take care of business against the ACC opponents they have scheduled. You always claim the ACC is weak and ND has scheduled Miami which not expected to do much (unranked), Wake and BC who are expected to be in the bottom 1/3 of the ACC. Not sure if Pitt will be in the ACC yet. Probably not!
Vote for Braxton Cave!!!!
Another Phil Steele poll. Vote for Cave!
Interesting to see he has Bennett Jackson as a 1st team All-Independent selection. Granted it's against competition from Army, Navy, and BYU, but I wonder his reasoning behind it.
Is there any reason for us to believe that 8-5/9-4 seasons aren't in our future for the next 5 years or more? I'm not trying to be negative, just that I don't see how we can compete with the elite or even Top 15 programs for that matter. Our recruiting is ok, Kelly looks to be adequate yet nothing to hang your hat on.
We're Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. We just keep hitting that alarm hoping for a change. Hoping for that damn song to change. Oh well, I got you babes.
If you want to post this sentiment then first I recommend you rewatch the movie A Few Good Men; pay particular attention to Cruises request for the truth.
But, there are 125+ college teams and 10 make the top 10. But all 125 have fans; some fanatical. ND fans are beginning to find out how those other fan bases were able to be enthusiastic and supportive. Game by Game.
Let's give Kelly and the 2012 team the benefit of the doubt here...
--- who knows what is going to happen?
The biggest factor to me this coming year is the schedule....
--- it isn't as easy as 2011 or 2010.
To get to the BCS, given the current structure, we are going to have to get to 10 wins....
--- it doesn't matter how they come, just get to 10....without any blowout losses
Quality post. I have to agree with you here, 6yard
