7 Spots - Cave, Slaughter, KLM, Goodman and probably Golic leaves 2 Spots. Since Standifer has already says he pledged and is just awaiting admission, and BK is not offering recruits , he is holding a spot free - not multiple.spots
My logic is as follows : if he has promised a spot to Goodman because as the article stated he needs a seasoned veteran as none of the receivers have proven reliable ( except Toma) he will be back. Using the same reasoning he must sign KLM and Golic back for their 5th years as well
The real question: is there a silent verbal for the last spot or is he hoping for one of Darby,,Poole,,Agholor or Neal

POTW - Last year and 2/20/11
Do walk-ons count toward the 85?
If my numbers are correct, you might be off by one on the count gasman. "Academically" we'll have 15 Seniors, 20 Juniors(including Badger) and 25 Sophomores(including Carlisle). That's 60. Plus the 17 recruits leaves 8 spots to fill. See a break down below:
Seniors: Calabrese, Cowart, Eifert, Fox, J.Golic, Martin, Motta, Riddick, Stockton, Tausch, Te'o, Tomo, Turk, Watts and Wood.
Juniors: Badger, Collingsworth, Heggie, Hendrix, Jackson, Jones, Lombard, Massa, Moore, Nichols, Nix, Rees, Roberson, Schwenke, Shembo, Smith, Spond, Utupo, Welch, Wood.
Sophomores: Atkinson, Atkinson, Brindza, Brown, Carlisle, Carrico, Councel, Daniels, Fairley, Golson, Grace, Hanratty, Hardy, Hegarty, Hounshell, Koyak, Lynch, Martin, McDaniel, Niklas, Prestwood, Robasa, Springman, Tuitt and Williams.

No, they do not. Not unless they are granted a scholarship.
What about walk-ons who have academic scholarships?
The real question:
#1 Kelly isn't "hoping"...he is praying....and presumably working to get one of them to come.
#2 If you or anyone else really thinks Kelly "promised" a spot to Goody because only Toma has proven reliable...
--- then Greenberry better translate from Day 1 "big time" because Goody is worthless unless Floyd is running "decoy"...
--- or Koyack and Eiffert are going to play every down...with Welch playing the blocking side TE or H back.
If Goody actually starts with Rees.... we won't see anything near 6-6 unless the "D" plays like the Steelers.
If Kelly offers Golic another year, and I'm not saying he will....
--- then you really have to question how good our OLine will be in 2012.
At best, at the very best, Golic was marginal.
One can only conclude then that the "high school hype" about our Oline underclass recruits is basically just that - hype....
--- or that Warriner never bothered to develop someone who could take over at center if Cave went down other than Golic.
For goodness sakes, don't put KLM down in the same breath with Goody and Golic....
--- KLM can play, really play....if he is healthy.
Who ever told you these three were on the same level?
I do not think you are capable of posting without being confrontational.
I never said anyone was on the same level as anyone else but since Goody has already come out and said he will be here for a 5th irrespective of whether or not he is on scholly ( and I believe based on some of the Kelly quotes that he will be not that I think he should be ) .
Fact : # of Game snaps from anyone not named Cave or Golic - 0
Fact: # of reliable receivers who have demonstrated the ability to get open and not drop 40 - 50% of the passes thrown to them not named Toma - 0
So yeah I agree, if the incoming Freshman or Daniels or hopefully Jones will have a better year, then we are in trouble. Goodman can catch and he is a big target. My guess if you posted after year 2 of the Shark you would have asked why that stiff was playing so much.
Oh we definately need Goody. My gosh who else do we have who can fair catch punts next year.
