Notre Dame says a story about Manti Te'o's girlfriend dying, which he said inspired him to play better as he helped the Fighting Irish get to the BCS title game, turned out to be a hoax apparently perpetrated against the linebacker.
He is not a victim. He knew good an well what was going on. He said he met her in 2009 in person and now he has never met her? His dad talked to her on the phone and now he has never talked to her? This thing stinks of a publicity stunt to propel and average linebacker into the spotlight. He should be ashamed.
