Tons of major programs don't schedule tough out of conference games, Alabama is far from the only one. Florida, Michigan, and plenty of other schools routinely don't leave the state for the first month and a half of the season. Scheduling two tough road games a year when you're Alabama isn't "manning up", its just stupid. What incentive do they have to do it? If an SEC Champion goes undefeated they will be the NC game, and if you don't think they are deserving of that if it happens you need your head checked.

You also can't have it both ways - you're whining about their weak schedule but when they do put a big-time out of conference program (Michigan) on board you write it off. Not Alabama's fault Michigan isn't the team most people thought they were. Also not their fault another team that looked top 10 (Arkansas) had their coach go on a motorcycle and leave the program a wreck.

Lucky year for them in that they're missing the best of the SEC East - UGA, Florida, South Carolina - but if they win the west they'll have to play them in the title game. If anything this is a team that is one of the reasons having a playoff will be beneficial - their schedule hasn't been as tough as expected, so make them prove it over two games against the best of the best.

Anyways sorry to use logic on this argument full of all kinds of nonsense. They've schedule home and aways with Penn State in the last few years (again, not their fault a solid program was in bad shape, you have to schedule these years in advance), and have to compete with teams with the most NFL talent every year - Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Arkansas, South Carolina, etc. Saying they "don't play anyone" is totally inaccurate.

Alabama does not leave the south
Alabama does not play the same level of competition each year most other teams do (easy schedule)

You people have bought into this (wow they beat someone 52-0/// TEXAS A&M with a freshman QB beat SMu 70-10 or some crap.. where is your o my god they are so good mindset then. its just because you see Alabama you think wow, they must be really good to beat someone 52-0.. Put them in 2 out of conf games a year, as should be required, against top 20 teams watch the record go up into smoke.

Schools should no longer be in charge of scheduling their opponents, should be left up to their respective conferences... Otherwise Alabama will just schedule 6 easy wins, one hard game, 4 easy wins and everyone including you folks will start calling for Saben to be placed in the Hall of Fame before he is even out of the sport....

Someone 6 feet tall next to a 9 foot person is, according to the tall man a dwarf, while the 6 foot man is considered above average..

Alabama is always standing next to people 3 ft shorter then them which is why they always look tall...

Alabama is that good and if it grabbed it balls and played tough teams once in a while they would not have a cult like following like people who refuse to use perspective and context when looking at where teams should be ranked..

Alabama's schedule is not as hard as expected this year, we get it. You ignoring that the rest of the SEC is full of elite programs and one's not too far behind is what is insane. Arkansas is not good - this year. You forget that least year they were ranked #3 in the country and went 11-2.

Your "facts" are not facts at all, so I will give you some.

1. Alabama does not leave the south this year, but played at Penn State LAST YEAR, so yes it happens. I'm sure you're response will be some trite response like "Penn State sucks".

Again, why should they schedule tough out of conference games on the road? Virtually no one does it, for a reason, because if you're trying to win a title its stupid. They played Michigan this year, and Virginia Tech next year at neutral sites. These are good games on their schedule.

2. Why are you ignoring that the SEC is tough? They have the most talent by whatever measure you look at (recruiting, players that get drafted in the NFL, performance in bowl games). They have any number of programs - Auburn, LSU, Florida - that have won titles in the last decade. That doesn't even include UGA, South Carolina, Arkansas, and a number of other quality teams.

3. As for the idea they play "nobody", check their strength of schedule over the past four years - #29, #22, #8, #3.

Not their fault the schedule is easy this year. Just because they're winning big does not make them "paper lions". If you want to jump on someone for not scheduling a tough team out of conference this year, look at Oregon's schedule....

Also, the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on Texas toast is nothing to shake a stick at. I'm not even sure why someone would shake a stick at some food.
