Long story short, on Friday we will be laying off 22% of our full-time workforce. Of the 78 we are letting go, about 80% are female and at least 14 are single/divorced mothers. We're creating 50 PRN positions and will give those 78 first crack at those spots, but given the shrinking margins projected in Obamacare with the projected increase in tax burden for our owners (our business is taxed at a personal rate since it's a bunch of closely held LLCs and S-Corps) this is the only way we can meet our debt service obligations while providing an acceptable return on investment to our owners. We've also determined that we will freeze wages going into next year until we can have a better idea of the long-term prognosis of our industry. We've been doing a lot of planning, but I don't think anyone outside of the owners knew this meeting was going to go like it did before we stepped into the room.
What does this have to do with Notre Dame and football?

Sorry to hear about your plight. But, most financial analysts predicted this would happen if he got re-elected. It is going to be financial Armageddon for many businesses in the next 12 months.
The people asked for it, they got it.
My luck w/the Irish 20-6...GO IRISH!!!
Long story short, on Friday I think I'm gonna have Jimmy Johns for lunch. I'm considering Subway but given recent quality of some meatballs I've had there, I'll probably end up with the #11 sub at JJ with no tomato on it. I know some people like tomatoes, but I'm just not a fan. Then I'll probably head home after work and catch up on some of the Thursday night shows that I Tivo. I like Parks & Rec a lot, and 30 Rock is pretty good, although it's not as good as it used to be. I used to watch the Office but I've gradually stopped caring in the past two years.
Oh wait, this isn't the place for my personal ramblings.
That really sucks. You are definently in a crappy situation. Long meetings are bad, but when you are letting that many people go, it really hurts. It's no fun letting people go.
I know. I'm in the military and we are definently going to see huge budget cuts and troop cuts. It is what it is and life will go on. A lot of people worried in the military I know that.

What this guy said.
I do not think this is what the board is about but why would anyone be surprised wait they all thought that Obamacare was a free ride.
Its an Off Topic Board, people post what they want. If you don't like it stay on the Rockne Board or Under the Dome. I find it asinine people complain about "topics" on the off topic board.

Actually it's off topic, so this is the perfect place for your "personal ramblings."
I would definitely go with the #11 at Jimmy John's, and further agree with no tomato. I don't get tomatoes, I like ketchup, but can't stand tomatoes. Before you do that however do you have a Firehouse Subs in your area, their meatball sub is killer.
As for the Thursday night stuff pass all of that shit you mentioned. Try to catch an episode of Pawn Stars.
OP put this in the Rockne's Roundtable thread before the moderates had the common sense to move it
did not realize that.....
Oh crap a down-vote.
