Sad Day for ND

  • Mike Turzai, who is an ND grad is the one of the leaders in the Pennsylvania legislature, who lead the fight to disenfranchise over 3/4's of a million voters to help Romney win. Apparently, he did not learn anything about ethics while at Our Lady's University.

    There were 10 reported cases (meaning 10 people) who were found to have voted fraudulently during the past election. That is 10 in the entire country.

  • When you say disenfranchise, do you mean having these voters take time out of their busy schedule so they can get picture IDs? It would be a safe bet that there were more than 10 fraudulent voters in one Chicago neighborhood.

    In addition, if someone has to take time off of work to go to get a state issued ID for no purpose, then it is a waste of time. Of course, if you naturally assume that all people who will be disenfranchised are on welfare, then you aren't really paying attention. It says as much about your personal prejudices as anything else.

  • If you think there is no voter fraud in Chicago, I have some "prime" property to sell you in downtown Gary, Indiana. You need a photo ID to buy booze, cash a check, buy a car, rent a hotel room but using an ID to vote is cruel punishment? If the "disenfranchised" can find the time to attend the movies, go to concerts, eat out, hit the clubs, or attend a ball game, then they can go get a darn photo ID. What are the lefties trying to hide? Don't you have to go occupy something? Surely, there has to be a sit in somewhere that needs one more person to sit. You are out of your league with this discussion. Let it go. Iran, Russia, and Venezuela all support the relection of our current President. Nothing more to say.

    Why don't you "righties" want a fair election. Taking 3 quarters of a million people off the voting roles for no reason other than to elect your candidate is unethical. It speaks poorly of Turzai, ND, since he graduated from ND and you.

  • I was at Buff Wild Wings in NW Indiana the other day and ordered a beer. I had to show a photo ID and I'm 59 years old. I am desinfranchised. Now I know what you mean. This is so unfair. I think I'm going to listen to some Rage Against The Machine and go occupy somewhere. It never changes anything but it beats getting a job. In reality, we can express two opposing views in public and not be arressted for it. What a great country to allow this freedom. The problem is, I appreciate and thank God for it and you don't.

    You are absolutely correct, Dillon. All those reports of election fraud in Illinois, in general, and Chicago, specifically, were all part of the "vast right wing conspiracy" to deprive you lefties of your "hard-earned" entitlements. Let's pray that the general electorate is a tad more intellectual than you with your naive philosophy of the world. Otherwise, we'd better all get the Chinese and Russian versions of Rosetta Stone.
