Former Notre Dame running back Cierre Wood, who opted not to return to South Bend for his final year of eligibility in 2013, met with reporters Friday at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

Wood rushed for 2,447 yards and 16 touchdowns in three seasons for the Fighting Irish, including 1,102 yards and nine scores in 2010, when he split carries with Jonas Gray, and 742 yards and four TDs in 2012, when he shared the load with Theo Riddick and George Atkinson III.

Projected as a fourth-fifth round selection, Wood (6-0, 215 pounds) averaged 6.5 yards per carry in 2012.
